About Us
Green Edens is an Evanston-based, woman and minority owned, sustainable landscaping company founded in 2009. We use environmentally friendly gardening practices and, whenever possible, native plant material. This encourages the repopulation of local insects, birds and wildlife, which brings the natural balance back to our environment. We readily share this knowledge to encourage gardening in ways that have a positive impact on our lives and, ultimately, the planet
Amy Wilke
Founder & Principal Designer
Amy is a Master Gardener through the University of Illinois at the Chicago Botanic Gardens and attended the College of Lake County for a degree in horticulture. Her focus is on sustainable landscaping and design.
Amy has long been interested in holistic healing modalities and wholeheartedly believes that healing can be derived from many different avenues, including engaging with nature. Amy feels strongly that the health of mankind and the health of the earth are inseparable, and restoring the natural balance of the environment using native plants is at the core of her design philosophy.
Mario Ortiz
Owner & Director of Field Services
Mario's life-long love for nature has led him to follow in his parents footsteps into a career in landscaping. Mario oversees all of the installations and maintenance. With an eye for design and extensive experience in proper planting techniques and plant care, Mario and his team carefully install every tree, shrub and plant and follow-up to ensure that every new garden installation is rooting well and on its way to thriving.
